NowPlaying Mac 1.0.1 Update
This update fixes a major bug where NowPlaying may crash when user opens and quits iTunes frequently.
Internally, the program now uses AppleScript directly instead of Scripting Bridge for better compatibility. Also there’s optimization on the pulling of player and track info to make it more efficient.

It would be great if, when iTunes was not open, if no text displayed. If iTunes was closed, just the NowPlaying icon would show.

Good Job!!
I am thinking about changing to a bigger screen

Sounds like a great script, but it seems to crash immediately using iTunes 8 and OS X 10.4.11, at least that’s my experience.

To dave:
The application was built for Leopard, as I have no Tiger for testing.

I agree with John B. It’d would be great to have just the icon showing. Also, it would be fantastic if the font characteristics were editable. Lastly, and purely aesthetic, it would be fantastic if the NowPlaying icon matched the system menu icons (this is just me being anal). Really though, thanks for a great program.

1. What can I do to display text only? ( I mean, without the icon or the CD covers ) Hopefully you can help me, this software is very helpful for a music lover like me.
2. Do you know if there is another software for Mac that will do the same?
Thanks!

Any chance to have the play clock show countdown (time remaining) as a preference? I’d also like to remove the iTunes state (Play, Paused, Stopped, etc) from displaying. While I’m at it, any way to click for a progress indicator (track)?

I would also like to echo John B and BG. When iTunes isn’t running, it’d be nice to just have a small icon, and if we could edit the font (i.e. make it slightly smaller, since I have some songs with some pretty ridiculously long names…). Alternatively, could you update the googlecode repository with the version 1.0.1 code, because I would be willing to take a stab at it myself, if that’s what it would take

Hi, thanks for your comment and sorry for the late reply. I’ve got a full-time job now and won’t be updating my apps for a while. If you’re interested, please let me know your google account so I can add you to the Google Code project
